Stephanie having a drink from a famous natural spring on the island. All the water comes naturally from springs on the island.
Supposedly, if you dring from this spring you will return in the future. I know one ferry that they won't be returning on.
This is a telephoto shot of the devistation of Plymouth. For safety reasons we couldn't enter the town of Plymouth so we went to an abandoned resort outside of Plymouth to view the devistation. The entire town was evacuated and abandoned. There was a huge mudslide that came down the middle of town and a Laharr that came down the mountainside at 100 mph that set many of the buildings on fire. The scientists called for an evacuation before so only 10 remaining people were killed.
This was the pool now filled with ash that the kids were walking on.
The view of the major harbor at Plymouth. Note the complete devistation.
Here is another telephoto shot. All these houses are abandoned. Many of the homes are burned because of the hot ash and laharr.
On the good side, the island is now building two geothermal sites to power the island rather than using imported oil.
A group picture with Dee who was our tourguide.
